Dreamscape brings a full-scale rave to a former industrial space in Milton Keynes; The Sanctuary becomes a vital all-night home.
After its early outdoor and club events, Helter Skelter builds a regular base at V7 Saxon Street and the line-ups grow broader and louder.
The adjacent Rollers rink helps turn the site into a giant, genre-spanning night. Jungle, techno, hardcore and house can sit under one roof.
The Sanctuary family of spaces hosts national promoters, marathon sessions and the scenes that became drum & bass, hard dance and UK garage.
The venue closes, but the tapes, flyers, reunions, vinyl and new generations keep the signal alive.
Every object leads somewhere else: a flyer to a date, a date to a room, a room to a tape, and a tape back to the people who made the night.
